    These were named as Saraliswaraalu which were the basics of carnatic music.
    Founded by Sri Purandaradasa Garu who was famously christened as Sangeetha Pitha maha(Father of carnatic music).

    SA - SADJAM (SOUND OF PEACOCK)
    RI - RISHABHAM (SOUND OF OX)
    GA - GANDHAARAM (SOUND OF GOAT)
    MA - MADHYAMAM (SOUND OF KROUNCHA BIRD)
    PA - PANCHAMAM (SOUND OF CUCKOO)
    DA - DAIVATAM (SOUND OF HORSE)
    NI - NISHADHAM (SOUND OF ELEPHANT)

    These seven are called SAPTHASWARAAS.

    SADJAM is christened as Mother of music.
    PANCHAMAM is christened as Father of music.

    Mayamalavagoula Raagam in Aadi Talam.

    Melakartha consists of raagas it is the database for all the raagas of carnatic music.

    Mayamalavagoula is considered as fifteenth among those 72 melakarthas.

    Practise of these swaras will allow you to get grip in carnatic music.
